Black and Decker Coffee Maker DE790B
My coffee pot works fine. It's the burner itself I'm having problems with. It doesn't want to stay on. When it's done brewing, the burner automatically shuts itself off. I misplaced my user manual so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any assistance would be helpful.

There is nothing wrong with your unit, This is not a problem. There is no burner at all. This is a thermal carafe unit that does not require a burner to keep the coffee hot, but rather it's the thermos like quality of the carafe that keeps the coffee hot.
The warming plate is controlled by the same thermal switch that cycles while brewing and they are mechanically in contact; it switches at about 150 degrees C. Most later coffee makers have a time limitation as well and if they are so designed, will turn off completely after 30 minutes to 2 hours after the brewing is finished to reduce the chance of the machine failing. If you insist on having one that doesn't behave this way, you can buy a cheap one from a 'dollar store,' they don't have that feature and will continue to cycle until turned off. Your B&D isn't malfunctioning, that is how it was designed.
I want one of those. The burner can ruin coffee in just 5 minutes.
