Yes they are also very hard to remove the bottom half is not so bad you have to remove the lower plastic cover to the airbox once you have done this test for power to the motor and if you cant do this ,take a hammer put the fan switch on high and smack the bottom half of the motor not to hard but be persuasive until it comes on then you know your motor is bad they will always work again for a little while if you do this, in order to remove the fan you are supposed to pull the dash back but i have done this by removing everything to get to the motor inside as mentioned then remove the windshield wiper cowl and reach down in side the airbox from out side the car with an 8 mm ratchet i believe,, and remove the nut holding the fan blade on the motor, separate the motor from the blade and you can now remove the motor from inside the car, take your time and you will also have to disconnect the fresh air flap door from the cable to the control unit first before you can reach your hand in from outside the car please rate -jeff
