Blowing the breaker
I have a 5hp 80 gal ingersoll air compressor I have had it for 2 years runs perfect but last night It had a short cycle a poped the breaker. It didn't trip the button on the motor so I fliped the breaker and it will run for 10 15 sec a pop it again. The motor seams like it turns faster than normal

Sounds like you have a bad nutural feeding to the main or its set up for 110 and running on 220. Check the incomming voltage at the wire feed to the motor. If anyone has replaced a breaker or a wall plug close to the unit or any palce in the structure Im betting this feeds back to your air compressor some how. and somethign is differant than it used to be.
Their is no way it could turn faster unless the voltage is way up. Chack the Name plate also on the motor some are dual voltage and maybe its wired up for low volts and on higher. Catch it early like tbhis and it will be ok.
PLEASE RATE ME ACCORDINGLY I THIS HELPS. And GOOD LUCK
