Blurry, purple cast to picture
Mfr Date 2/1998. Sound OK, set has a full raster. Picture has a blurry, purplish cast. No burnt smell in case, removed board and looked for discolored or burned components- found none. I have no schematic and only a DMM for test equipment. Will try adjusting the focus control on the flyback but could it be the picture tube? What should I check next? Thanks In Advance. DH

Check the crt cap that is connected to your picture tube...it may be greenish inside...try to change the crt...and adjust the focus...
