bos just came on, on ym jeep compass 2007. what is it ? also when im doing a quick stop or just barely turning on my car it has this weird feeling, like if something is holding on to my tires and then pushing me forward it started to do that right after this light came on?

ESP is Electronic Stability Program
BAS is Brake Assist Control
These systems allow the vehicle computer to prevent the tires from spinning and locking up.
From your description, it sounds like these two systems are active but may be too sensitive.
If it affects how you drive, you may want to have the dealership take a look at this and see if they can adjust this to be less sensitive.
