Bosch diswasher, model Sms68m02AU trips circuit breaker
Hi, The Bosch diswasher, model Sms68m02AU we have has start tripping the circuit breaker when operating. It will run a pre wash cycle ok, but when put into a wash cycle it trip the RCD when it reaches a point in the cycle. It could be the part of the cycle when the water is be heated. Has anyone got any ideas what the cause could be. Thanks

Rcd units trip from the milliamps that are in a short
it trips the rcd to prevent electrocution and acts in nano seconds besides being a circuit breaker for excessive current
the trip can be from moisture allowing a current leakage to ground or some other simple operation
I suggest that you get in a qualified electrician / bosch service technician to find the reason for the problem rcd
Thanks Bill. I should have mentioned in my question that I am a licensed electrician, although ? have no experience with appliance repairs. I think there is moisture in the heating circuit or a dead cockrouch shorting something out. I was hoping to get a bit of idea from people's past experience before I start pulling things apart.
I am not a qualified electrician but my place is all rcd controlled ( legal requirement) and on one occasion the outlet rcd tripped
investigation found that a small lizard in the wall had touched active to ground and that tripped the breaker
Your suggestion that it could be an insect or moisture is valid so that is what I would be looking for ( insect more than element as heating elements are in water unless the seal on the element installation is faulty allowing water to the connections ) or moisture around the program board where it should not be
