"Bose Home thearter 321, CD's not playing "Unsupported Format"
My system is now 17 months old ( purchased march 2008) and for last 8 months i am troubled with the player that is unable to play the CD/ DVD giving a mystery message "Unsupported Format" . Earlier it used to be occassional now frequent. It is frustating. Talk to service guys - you have long list of advice DO's & Dont's. I have never seen such a player which need to be cared like a puppy....
There are other CD players which runs for ages without such mysterious trouble. Can someone advise about a low cost CD player that can be attached to sub woofer of this system & is compatible. I am prepared to forego a little bit sound quality..which anyway i am not able to enjoy due to this trouble that takes most of my time if i want to listen a good music...

You do not give much information to work with. However, if you purchase a stand alone DVD player (I have a personal weakness for Sony, and only went with the Bose because of their sound reputation) make sure it has either optical out or coaxial digital which you can connect to one of the inputs at the back. Just note that in the Bose settings you have to assign Optical to the input you are using if you use optical. Optical and Coaxial audio are digital so you will not compromise the sound quality much.
It is not clear what type of CDs you are playing whether they are copies or originals. If copies how are they being burnt to disc, etc?
