Bought a GE Spacemaker microwave when it is on
Bought a GE Spacemaker microwave . The new microwave when in operation causes interference with the reception on our TV. We have Direct TV service. The previous microwave did not cause this problem. Does anybody have any idea how to correct this problem and could it cause other problems such as possible fire or damage to any other electricial applicances.

First, check your owner's manual. It should address interference issues.

Also check with Direct TV customer service to see what they recommend.
Microwaves manufactured after a specific date are required by the FCC to have a noise filter built in.
You can contact GE customer service to see if yours has one. GE Customer Service is here.
If not, you may be stuck unless the dealer will let you exchange it for a newer model.
