Bought a new computer with PCIe slots without realizing they aren't compatible with PCI soundcards, so my E-mu 1820m sound card does not fit. Are there adapters that will solve my problem? If so, how much money, are they reliable, and where do I get 'em?

Even if your motherboards does have PCI-e slots it will still have 3 standard pci slots. So have another look there will be a slot for your sound card as in my experience and knowledge i have nether seen a motherboard with out a pci slot.
