Bought a new Reliance 640 Dort water heater. It took 12 hours to heat up. Did laundry. No hot water left and not heating up. Why?
Have had the heater for 36 hours. It took it 12 hours to heat the water. We did 2 showers, 5 loads of laundry, and used the dishwasher. The water is now ice cold and not heating up. It has been several hours since the last time hot water was used. The hot water tap has not been turned on anywhere in the house for several hours.

1) Test elements, and if elements check out, then replace both thermostats.
