Bought in October, the remote stopped working. Have to manually push the buttons (below the front panel) to have any function work. Have changed batteries and even bought a universal remote, to no avail. Neither one causes any response from the television. Please help. Is it the signal receptor in the TV? Or something else? (The label reads: LD 195 EMX 19" LCD HDTV+DVD combo)

I suggest that you take it back to the supplier for a free repair. (You DID register the warranty didn't you!).
