Bought new desktop and would like to know if I can transfer my data and files from my old PC useing your cables?. Or, do I have to pay Staples $99.00 to do this for me?
If all you want are data files without programs, I usually recommend that the hard drive from the old system be mounted inside the new system as a secondary drive. That way you have access to everything.
Nope, this should be the simplest. You will need to change one jumper on the disk to change it from Master to Slave. Other than that, you should be good. Ask Staples how much to insert a second drive that you supply. This would be either the D or E drive depending upon how the new system is set up. That would give you access to the entire disc.
