Br500 if i put petrol in the plug hole it will start but can not get it to pump up petrol from the tank with the plunger also appears to have A petrol leak any idea what could be causing this

Faulty fuel line or insufficient vacuum drawing fuel into the carb.The fuel leak would be where I would start looking
