Breaker keeps tripping
I have a Broan CV20-8 central vac. I get 15 minutes of vac time and then the breaker on the unit trips. I have to wait a few minutes and then can hit the reset and off I go. I have cleaned, washed and vac'ed the filter, keep the can empty as possible. I got more suction - but still have the trip problem. Is this a bad reset circuit breaker? or is the engine going? I do not feel the motor is overly hot - yes it's warm after 15 min. Unit is 20 yrs old. Help!!

Sounds like the motor is going out. You might try cleaning the motor,I usually use compressed air to blow out motors on central vac systems. After cleaning check your vents for the motor compartment. If problem still remains,then you will need a new motor.

If you can unplug the central vac and plug it into a different outlet that you know is on a different breaker and test it out to see if it trips the breaker,or temporarily rewire the central vac to a different power supply.Make sure the breaker is the correct amperage for the central vac,last read the instructions to see if you need a dedicated circuit breaker,you might have to many accessories plugged into that outlet.
