I think tnat may be the case..ive tried descaling with vinegar today and still its acting very sluggish. I have used the cleaning tablets once a week but thought that was good enough and have only descaled once in a year . Imtrying g to rule out a bad water pump...if the pump is shot would it just not work at all or act as if its losing its functioning slowly? Probably has lime/scale built up in it. You can try running vinegar thru it. It may require disassembly and physically cleaning the water lines out.
