I have a GFCI outlet that the base is plugged into. If the base is plugged in, it's fine. Once I place the kettle onto the base (with the kettle turned OFF) then the outlet is tripped and stops working. So after cleaning the kettle itself, it short circuits the outlet when it's plugged into the base"
