Briggs and Stratton easy start not starting easy LOL
Have a sears craftsmen 190cc rear wheel drive mower. Has Briggs and Stratton easy start system. No primer bulb. No manual choke. Only starts if I pour gas down the carb after a few pulls. Sometimes will re start without doing that after it has been run for a while. Sometimes have to re pour gas down the carb when it is hot. When running it runs fine. No sputtering or stalling when running. I have pulled plug. Has spark obviously. Pulled cord with plug removed to jettison anything that might have been in the chamber. Nothing was. Pulled the carb off. Wasn't too dirty inside. Cleaned it thoroughly and ensured float and needle operates freely. Put wires down all holes to ensure all cavity's were clean. Checked fuel flow from tank to carb and it flow freely. Checked fuel itself and it is new so that is not the issue. Changed air filter. Was dirty but having clean one didn't change the issue. Thought maybe the timing was out. Pulled the flywheel off and the key was slightly off but definitely there and not broken. There was a spring missing on the air vane. Replaced that. No change in issue. Thinking it has to have something to do with the automatic choke or braking system. Has spark and gas because once gas was poured down carb it continues to run properly. Just starting is the issue. At a loss. Can't seem to find what the problem is. Such a pain. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Did you consider changing the carburetor?
Well, you seem to have done just about everything possible without results and that is about the only thing left. Obviously, the anomaly has to be in the start area of the carb. It is your call regarding whether you get a primerless one or one with a primer bulb. If not an original primer less unit, you need to make sure that the substitute pretty much has the same specs as the original re orifice, flow, etc. To be on safe side I would go with the primerless one so as to not throw more confusion into the mix. You can get good deals on ebay if patient.
