Broan ventilation fan not working

I have a Broan bathroom fan. When the timer dial is turned past the mark, the fan does not start. any suggestions? It's not the latest model. I don't know where the model number is located. It has a gold colored grill. thanks.matt

Does it start before the mark as you turn it if so replace the switch. power off first and check with a meter.
