Broken Dremmel tool spindle stop turning but motor runs
My dremmel tool is an older model 395 type 3 about 20 years old but rarely used. I was using it to drill a pin hole in a gourd and all of a sudden the collet and bit stop turning but the motor kept running. The collet was not loose and the spindle turns free by hand. I pulled on the spindle to see if the shaft may have broke. There is no play to indicate the shaft is broken. Obvioulsy though something did break internally. Should I bother to send it in to repair or is it cheaper to buy a new one than repair and pay shipping back and forth?

I called Dremmel tech support FOR FREE and they told me what was broken - flex coupling between shaft and spindle. Only Dremmel model 395 type 2 and 3 have these couplings. Mailed out repair kit yesterday.
