Brush not working when the handle is reclined
My vacuum is just a few months old. The belt is good and the brush rotates when upright. As soon as I recline the handle, the brush does not spin anymore. The only way I can get it too vacuum is to extend the handle all the way to the floor, wrap the cord down the back, under the head so it is coming up at the front of the vacuum. I then have to pull on the cord and lift the head about an 1/8 of an inch off the floor to get the brush to spin.
Cannot find anything wrong with it myself and do not want to send it out for repair...how hard can it be to fix a basic vacuum? It was a fantastic vacuum at first and really pulled the nap up and cleaned well...help!!!!

Sonds like you have a problem with the self propel switch in the handle. Since you didn't provide a specific model number, I can only give you generic information on what might be the problem.. Here is a link for a hoover upright model ( may or may not be yours) but it does show the switch in the handle that does sound like your problem... http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/U6634900.pdf If you can provide a specific model, perhaps I can provide specific details on the repair.. Good Luck !
