Bubbles from water return inlets
I recently purchased a barracuda pool cleaner. As soon as I connected it up it wopuld work spasmodically and move a few inches then the water pressure would drop and hardly any water coming out of the return inlets but lots of buddles. The supplier then sent me a skimtrol skimmer plate instead of my lockin poolrite plate. By adjusting the flow on the skimtrol I can get a correct reading on the pulse meter of between 2 and 3 as suggested. However as soon as I connected the hose the pressure drops and the bubbles start again. I have checked all the hoses for splits etc.and the actual barracuda head looks fine - no tears or anything. I have spent so many hours trying to find the problem. The O rings look perfectly fine and the pump works well without the cleaner attached. Can anyone help me please?

Its not uncommon to get some bubbles when using sectional hose as there are 12 connections that must be tight (but usually leak a bit). if you have access to a regular one piece hose, try using that to see if the problem corrects.
these machines are horrible for diaphragm problems which is why there is usually a big bin of replacements at every pool store. even though there is no tear, the rubber may have stretched or become rigid (water balance causes this)
