Buick Century 1993, 3.3 engine. Car runs for a few seconds and dies, it will not start again until it sit for a while. Trying to diagnose fuel pump problem. I undo fuel line at engine, pump runs for a few seconds and then shuts off, should it not stay running until it pressures up? Pete

The fuel pump will run on a prime cycle for approx 5 seconds whenever the key is turned on, but only after it has been off for at least 10 seconds and whenever there is oil pressure.
