Bunn BT 10B -RANCID BUTTER in Resevoir!
I posted before but I can't find my post!
Anyway, here goes again!
I placed a frozen package of butter on top of the coffee maker, just for a minute, then forgot about it overnight. The next day, the butter was half gone, melted, and had drained into the top of the maker through the vents.
Before I could clean out the top area, the coffee maker got used, causing the melted butter to drain down into the resevoir. Since then, it is unusable, due to the 'rancid butter' flavoring in the water! I spent hours taking apart the top of the coffee maker and cleaning out that part, then flushing the resevoir out with CLR and other coffee maker cleaners. The horrible smell and taste remains.
I believe that my only hope is to remove the resevoir and clean that out. However, there are lots of wires across the top and one going down along the side.
Can anyone walk me through the process of removing the resevoir, so that I can clean out the butter and make some coffee again?
Thanks, Tina

Hi Tina - I'm no expert on melted butter in your coffee maker; but, I'd bet that the butter also got into the internal water tank where the water gets heated. Try going to the Bunn website: www.bunn.com , and click on their Customer Service link. You can either call their toll-free number or write to them with your problem from there.
Hope this helps!
