C KEEP SHUTTING OFF?
Water emptied, plug is fine. have plugged ALONE into appliance surge protector, because it kept flipping the breaker. thought it was wiring in room, but have moved and it's doing it worse now. No blinking lights.

If the circuit breaker is the proper size for the unit (see the manufactures installation instructions), then the high current tripping the breaker is most likely a failure of the compressor. It is stalling causing high current. You may be on the verge of having to replace a worn out unit.
If the unit is more than 7 years old, you may hav reached the end of it's life.
