Cable female adaptor is missing
The little cable adaptor female plug is completely missing from the back of the tv set. The previous owner must have pull it out when they pulled the cable wire out. I took the back off and there's a small metal box with removable sides where the plug goes, so I tried putting a adapter in there but apparently wasn't making the right connection. It looks as if the small box is solder to a panel. What will it take to get it fixed?

The small metal box is the tuner. The tuner has to be removed to replace the broken off RF connector. The connector has to be soldered to the tuner housing (metal box) and the leg of the connector has to be soldered to the circuit board, board has to be checked for cracks or if it is broken. If board is damaged the tuner will have to be replaced, if its available.
