Call drop out after 5mins 30 secs
Hi i have a telstra speedstream 4200 modem and a engin voip when the voip is connected to ss4200 i can talk on the phone forever. i purchased a dlink di524 router to run a computer in another room which works fine except with this all connected in the correct manner my voip drops out after 5mins 32 secs. i notice this is not uncommon looking at complaints on other sites. hope you can help as it is driving me insane and i have tried many fixes. cheers bob white.

Hi Youradickhead, I have experienced similar problems previously with Telstra and it was not due to the D-link as far as could verify. It seemed to me that Telstra was able to detect that you were using your internet connection for phone conversations and drop your line. Alternatively it may have to do with the filters that they provide. Try it without the filter, i.e. connect your modem cable straight into the socket (cable port).
