Camera will not power up when opened
The camera will not power up, the battery charge is full. If I plug the camera in the AC outlet, when I attempt to open the screen which powers it on it will come on and as soon as I try to open it fully it shuts off. I have tried new batteries, so I know it is not the battery.

Actually, it very well might be the battery. Batteries hold only so many re-charges before they become spent (shot, kaput). Try buying a new battery and see if this just doesn't fix your problem. My battery did same thing where it 'fully charged' and then as soon as I unplugged it, the cam had a nano of a second of operation before it seemingly went dead again. Needs a new battery.
I'm just curious if the batteries you've tried are right for the camera as replacement batteries? Did you buy refurbished? Just fishing for ideas... There is a silver button (bottom of the buttons) on the side of the body of the camera, too. Try holding that in for about 15-20 seconds. Have you tried charging the camera via your computer? Will your computer recognize it or let it power on after being on a charge? Mine did the same thing but it works now. I tried different AC adapters...
Oh, I am so happy it is now working for you! This was my problem as well and I hoped it would work for you. Best wishes that no future issues return! My pleasure to help out!
