CAN AN IPHONE 6 PLAY THROUGH MY ONKYO HT-S5100 AUDIO SYSTEM THAT HAS A DEDICATED IPOD DOCK
I BOUGHT AN APPLE ADAPTER TO CONNECT MY APPLE 6PLUS PHONE TO MY ONKYO HT-S5100 AUDIO SYSTEMS DEDICATED "IPOD" DOCK TO PLAY MUSIC FROM THE PHONE THROUGH THE SYSTEM. I AM GETTING NO SOUND. I BELIEVE I HAVE CONNECTED EVERYTHING PROPERLY. IS THIS FUNCTION SUPPORTED THROUGH THIS EQUIPMENT THAT WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2008?

The included i-Pod dock is the DS-A1 and it is not compatible with any iPhone. It's compatible with the third (select versions) through fifth generation iPods. It can also work with the IPod nano (first and second generation), iPod mini and iPod Photo. On the Crutchfield product page, http://www.crutchfield.com/S-GQfUerwopyn/p_580DSA1/Onkyo-DS-A1.html, look at the Details tab for a complete list of compatible devices.
You can find this list also in the HT-S5100 manual (page 65) and the DS-A1 manual (page 6). The direct links to both of these manuals are http://filedepot.onkyousa.com/Files/own_manuals/HT-S5100_En_A.pdf and http://filedepot.onkyousa.com/Files/own_manuals/DSA1.pdf .
I wish that I had better news for you.
