Can connect with usb stick on one PC and through inbuilt wireless on a laptop to the main router but not a new one
Hi there

I'm having problems in getting the usb wireless adapter to work on a new pc I've just built.

I can use the usb stick to connect to the router with no problems on the old pc but it's not working on the new one. I can also connect to the router using my laptop.

OS of the old pc is Windows XP Home, laptop is Vista and the new one which can't connect is XP Pro SP3.

I've also tried connecting the new pc to the router directly via an ethernet cable, but no luck still.

It keeps giving the "limited connection" message. When I click repair connection it attempts to repair but stops when it's "renewing the ip address"

I've looked in the user manual on the disc and nothing seems helpful :-s

I've used the netgear connection program/utility selecting the right wireless connection, using both 64 and 128bit encryption for the wireless key. I've also tried bypassing the netgear program altogether and just connecting through windows wireless manager but the same problem occurs.

Any ideas on what is wrong?

Thanks a lot for your help in advance!
