Can I do a low level format on my DVR because it keeps corrupting new recordings? My DVR started acting up about a month ago. DISH tech support told me to remove the surge protector and plug it directly into the wall. That worked for a week then the problem returned. Another tech told me to erase all the recorded programs because I probably had a corrupt recording that was interfering with all the recorded programs on the drive. I erased several of the most recently recorded ones and the problem cleared up. But a program I recorded since had a corrupt picture. Is there a way to do a low level format that will seal off the bad sectors so the DVR can't write to them? Thanks

This could not be the hardisk, it could be the main hv capacitor on the psu if your dvr has same psu as the thomson dt16300?
