Hello there most of the cabriolet in 1990 are electrical. If you like to open manualy it is posible only if you disconnect the arms which are attached to the motors on each side .The arms and motors are located behind the side panels.Disconnect only the connection to the arms not the arms from the motors,there is an allen head bolt to be removed.Aftrer this you will still need to operate electricaly the two (on the top of the windshield ) el.motors(latches). If you use the switch to detach the top from the windshield then you can finish the openning by hands(manualy) this is the only way it would work for you.
