This lens is designed specifically to work only with the Canon mount and will not work on a Nikon. That is, unless you get a product such as the one listed here on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/Converter-Adapter-Canon-FD-Lens-Nikon-Mount-DSLR-/250825938755?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a66641743#ht_1556wt_992 The downside to this type of adapter is that the features of the lens such as image stabilization or auto focus will most likely no longer function. If you need this functionality then you can typically sell one lens and make enough money to purchase a used lens for the new camera. People switch between Nikon and Canon a lot so there are TONS of good deals on good lenses on ebay. Hope that helps!
Quantaray makes their lenses available for a variety of camera brands. If the lens has a Canon mount, then no. If the lens has a Nikon mount, then yes.
Also, bear in mind that if the lens does not have an internal focusing motor then you will not get autofocusing with the D3000. Everything else will still work, but you'll just have to focus manually.
