I just put that together so I know your confusion. You have o put the little plastic glider plugs in the end of the rails then put the screws through the metal into the plastic piece to keep it secure the two gliders go on the front of the crib ends with a screw in the top and bottom of the plastic pieces the back rail does not slide up and down it is just stationary the rail that holds the mattress gets bolted in either of the 2 hieghts depending on the age of the child. Then the 2 big plastic pieces go on the end of the rail at the top so that you can squeeze it together to raise and lower the side. If you have any questions you can email me back or call me at 517-673-9091. I hope his helps.

Called the people we got it from and they came and put it together. It would have been impossible without them or instructions
