Can somebody pls. help...our tv Samsung LN40A550 LCD would not turn on...the red light (power) keeps blinking & the blue bar is turned on too as soon as you plug in the tv but the screen won't turn on...no sound, no picture! and to think that the tv is fairly new...are there a lot of people out there who experienced the same kind of problem?

This is a very common problem. The power supply board has failed and needs to be replaced. You can call 1-800-samsung to find out if this problem will be covered under a warranty and the nearest service center. I replaced at least 150 power supplies last year.
I would have to say that the power supply is bad.Open the back of the TV,and look at the can shaped items called capacitors on the circuit boards.If any of them have the tops,or bottoms bulged out,they need to be replaced.This should get it working again.I hope this helps.If you have any questions,please let me know.Thank You very much!
