Can the feed dogs be lowered? And need a manual
I'm trying to figure out if I can lower the feed dogs on my Janome 8080, and if so, how to do that.
I'm also wondering if you know of somewhere that I can find a manual for this machine.

I have a Janome 8080 and have just figured out how to drop the feed dogs. Underneath the white plastic cover that surrounds the left side of the machine, there is a switch in the back. Flip the switch and the feed dogs go down.
Manuals will be difficult to find because the companies limit themsleves to the amount of spares they make, open the slide plate and see if there is a drop feed lever, if not you may have raised plates instead.
If you do not have a drop feed mechanism on your machine then you must have a raised plate with the attachments to do embroidary, failing that if yopu need to do a lot of freehand embroidary take the needle plate off and undo the two screws holding the teeth on and take them off.
