Cannot get the heating element to turn off properly on Lasko 5620
I have a Lasko 5620 baseboard heater that came in the box from Lowe's without an instruction manual. I apperantly set a temperature, but the unit does not turn off when it has reached the temperature I set. I have to just turn off the unit when it gets the room too hot.

From whatI have seen on base board heaters if I recall correctly, the thermostat may be sepperate. Usually thermostats on these have a round knob. 1 line goes to this and the other side of the thermostat goes to 1 end of th element and the othe line attaches to the other side of the element. Its possible you have the element wired in directky if it came without a thermostat and without instructions it may till be connected directly. You should have an L1 and L2 connection and hope there is a wire diagram on the cover.
THE reason these basebord heaters used to come without a thermostat is because they are (OR WERE)set up to add on additional heaters comming right on down the wall. At the last one you could tie in and get a correct rated thermostat installed in the center of the series.
Return to LOWES and ask them to remove the instructions and copy them for you from another like model. Or have them contact the manufacturer and request they fax a copy of instructions with a diagram. Also ask if the heater comes with a thermostat. It may stoill be sepperate in another kit.
