Cannot get to router configuration screen
I'm using a Netopia 3347WG router. My internet connection is fine, but my problem is I cannot configure the router. The default gateway is 192.168.1.254 but when I plug it into the address bar is just takes me to search results for 192.168.1.254 even when I directly connect a laptop to the router. Any suggestions?

If you are using Internet Explorer, you must prepend http:// to the IP address to go there.
1) type http://192.168.1.254 into the browser window and you should go right there.
2) assuming that you are using the default configuration of the router, this should do the trick. Otherwise, you may have to manually place the laptop on the same network as the router.
Try #1 first, and see if that doesn't give you access.
