Cannot upload from radio to software
I have the cable installed correctly. I am using a USB cable and installed in the driver, but it still won't upload to the vertex pc program.

Go to "device manager" on your computer, find "ports" and the usb serial port in use and ensure the data rate is set properly to communicate with the radio. It's also possible the radio's comm settings for its serial port are at the wrong rate or "disabled".
