Report "Canon 1000D Hello there, I'm in China at the Beijing games. my 1000D is giving me a error message 99. can't take picture. I have turn it off and on, take the battery out but the problem still come back after 4 or 5 snaps. please help. I have change lenses and clear the head but not winning. Thanx well i have the similar problem, that i could identify that the camera goes off state after 30 mins, then i found that the display power cannot come, but the camera is working with view finder, if i take the picture, the picture captured but when it is store on the CF card, the image name already exists, in my case particulartly 100-1831 this number for the photo, it cannot store in the card so msg appears, i can override that the auto off should be off. so you can take the photos continuously, but if you switch off you camera then it reset again which i mentioned the above number, then i have to take out the battery and put it again. it was weird and hard too, but we can manage some situation, but the battery back will be less"
