In the game display settings, change it to 'open in window'. in addition, make sure your system resolution is set to 1024x768, and the game resolution should be set to 800x600. that should make it easier to see the gameplay as well. if the game doesn't open to allow you to go to the display, there should be an alternative safe mode shortcut in the F22 folder in the start menu ... hope this works for ya.

I'm playing F22 on XP with dosbox. It should work in vista.
