Can't ping or access modem through dir-600l
Bought the D-Link DIR-600L router and it works VERY well for all my home networking needs. The only problem I have is that I cannot ping the modem via CMD line or through the router. In addition, I cannot access the modem (Motorola SB6121) configuration page via browser address line input (192.168.100.1). I've tried many suggestions: hard reset of modem and router, NAT (firewall) disabling, changed router IP from 192.168.0.1 to more conventional 192.168.1.1 (like my old Linksys router) to no avail. I'm convinced there's a switch or setting in the router that's preventing such action from the LAN side. What am I missing?

Your cable modem is a normal home use cable modem. You do not need to configure your modem. Your ISP will send the information needed to the modem once it has been registered to their systems. With most cable ISP you should be able to connect the modem to the cable and gain access to the modem registration. NOTE: You must sign up for service first.
If you wish to access your modem page then you will have to change the WAN IP address to something like 192.168.100.25. Do not use 192.168.100.1 nor 192.168.100.255. Once done you will then be able to access your modem's web page.

Following an exhaustive search of all the settings, I see no means to change the WAN IP address on my D-Link DIR-600L router. It would seem to me that the WAN address (from the router's perspective) is hard-coded in the modem and will always be 192.168.100.1 which is the modem "page". There are no user configurable setting on the modem. Of course I can't expect you to know exactly what the configuration pages for the DIR-600L router look like. My apologies if I have misinterpretted your recommendation. If it would help, I could try to provide pictures of setup pages. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
I added a Video to my Solution that will help you. Just note that I am useing an Emulator from the Dlink support site so I can not save. So when I click on the Status button the IP address should be the 192.168.100.25. Ref:http://support.dlink.com/emulators/dir60...
