Can't remove the bread pan
We bought a Cuisinart 400C breadmaker, and after the first loaf, couldn't remove the bread pan from its seating. We exchanged it for a new machine. You guessed it... after the second loaf, the bread pan is fixed onto its seating in the "oven compartment" and we can't get it out.
What can we do??

The same thing happened to me yesterday. I made my first loaf and then I couldn't get the bread pan out. We kept pulling and yanking on the bread pan until it felt like it was going to break! This morning, my husband called Cuisinart. The man on the phone said he has the same machine at home, and that you just have to pull it really hard. He said don't worry, it won't break, just pull it. My husband pulled it again and it came out. I guess he just got the right angle on it.
It was definitely stuck from the bottom, not from the side clamp things. The man on the phone at Cuisinart said that after you use it more, it becomes easier to remove the bread pan. We put the bread pan in and then pulled it out a few times, and it seems like now it comes out easily, the way it should.
I felt obliged to respond here, because I was very discouraged after reading this thread last night. I was about to return the machine. I hope this solution helps.
By the way, my first loaf yesterday was the Rosemary Bread from the cookbook that comes with the machine. It was AMAZING.
It's easy for me. You need to turn the pan "countercolockwise" first before pulling it out.
I know, right? Somebody screwed up with using the proper verbage for the manual! I was struggling with it for good 10 min getting frustrated until I read the comment above. Thanks!

I had the same problem. After reading the solution above that said to pull really hard and not be afraid of breaking it, it came out. The only thing I would add is to put the machine on the floor so you get the proper leverage and wear oven mitts so you can reach in and pull from opposite corners.
After much twisting, rocking and pulling on the pan, I was able to free the stuck pan. The socket for the pan in the machine has two slots cut in the sides. The bottom of the pan has two protrusions, which fit into the slots in the machine. I made sure the paddle screw was aligned with the protrusions and then just popped the pan in easily into the machine, and it came out with no effort other than lifting on the handle. I showed my wife how it all was meant to line up, which was a surprise to her. She had just been pushing the pan in without realizing there was anything to be aligned. In fact, I can see marking where the pan had gone in improperly. I read the Cuisinart manual and there is no mention of this where placing the pan into the machine is mentioned. One simple sentence could have explained this and avoided the stuck pan problem that so many people have encountered.

I agree. They dont say about it anywhere. I called Cuisinart Customer Service, they asked me to rotate counter clockwise and it will come out. It didn't. I followed you instruction and the pan is out. I see the two spokes and the slots. It goes in really good and come out. Thanks. RR
We just finished making our first loaf of bread and we're running into the same problem! We found that if you twist and pull from opposite corners it comes out pretty easily. Hope this helps someone!
Rotate the pan "counterclockwise" and it unlocks it and lifts out.
the instructions say to "turn it left"... NO.. not left, you freaking instruction book writer!!! COUNTERCLOCKWISE!!!!
To un-stick the bread pan, I put mine on the floor and pulled from the corners of the bucket up at an angle, not straight up from the handle. When it popped out, it looked like some rust had been gluing the bucket to the bottom. It does not appear to have damaged it, though. I was pulling so hard on the handle I thought it would bend/break, so I pulled from the corner instead and it came out.
After 2 months of use we had the same problem. Cuisnart Customer service was of no help at all. They wanted us to pay the shipping costs to repair their product which is still under warranty. Any other company we have dealt with has always stood by their warranty. Poor customer service. We eventually managed to get the pan out. First we were able to get the pan free from both clips at the side and then pulled forward on the pan. This wasn't working so we tried pushing it back while pulling on it and it popped out. Maybe this helps.
We had same problem after buying for my in-laws for Christmas. Didn't use handle, but pulled hard from rim of bread pan. Pan released, hopefully will also get better with time. Otherwise we have an additional bicep exerciser for our kitchen...
