Instructions say continue in pattern dec 1 stitch at each end of 6th and every following 10th row I think I should decrease for the first time in row 2 of pattern how would I do that as if I p2 together at beginning it throws my pattern off Thank you

This can be a little difficuit if you are just a beginner knitter. It is helpful to keep a little writing pad beside you and a pen to jot down your stitches at the end of each row. then you will know which stitch will be next. As you knit more of the pattern you should be able to tell which stitch is next, regardless of any decreases. It is hard to tell what you are doing, but really it is just calculation, and concentration. The pattern you are doing seems an easy one when you get used too it. It looks like you are knitting some kind of rib stitch?
