Carrier Humidifier Model No.49BG013210 - Recently our local servicemen replaced the filter on the above model. The water valve was turned on but there is no circulation of water. I do not feel any moisture in the house. I noticed a sort of water tank (Model No. 554941) on the side of the furnace. I am not sure of its function. Check all supply registers of the unit, which are wide and flat and located on your walls. Make sure that they are open and unclogged. Inspect the cleanliness of the unit and of the distribution pad.
Observe the fan's function. Spray lubricant on on the motor shaft of the fan unit to ensure it rotates properly.
Take off the small pipe between the solenoid valve and the humidifier and check if the opening is blocked. If not, you may need to replace the solenoid valve.
Check whether the thermostat has been set to a heat position and that the temperature is set above the room temperature. Check that the furnace is getting power supply and the circuit panel to see if all the circuit breakers are in an "ON" position. Check all the return air grills on the wall, make sure they are not blocked.
Check whether the thermostat is set to "COOL." Check also the circuit breakers and that they are in an "ON" position. Make sure that the blower motor in the furnace is running, as it should be when the thermostat has been set in a cool position.
