Make sure the vacuum cleaner is unplugged, turn it over so that ou can see the brush. Look for attachment screws around the brush area, undo these and remove the access cover of brush housing. Very likely that the the driving belt will have broken, or has come off the drive spindle on the motor. If the belt needs replaced make sure that it is in the right way, simply lie the vacuum on its side and switch on then off. If it is ok then replace all parts removed earlier. The belt needs to be twisted to join to the motor, so it is either a left or right twist. After replacing all parts, hand over to the hubby and tell him to get on with it!
