CD stuck in disk tray of (original) BOSE 321
I have an original Bose 321 system which I purchased in 2002 timeframe. Here is my problem. I have a dvd stuck in the dvd tray. When I hit eject on the system, the system says ejecting and you can here the disc whirl, but the cd disk tray does not eject. I have tried turning off the system for a few minutes then back on and unplugging the unit from the wall for a few minutes, but nothing seems to work. Is there a button I can push to manually open the disk tray? Any assistance provided is greatly appreciated.

NO NEED TO TEAR APART OR REPLACE THE UNIT! JUST TURN OFF THE UNIT, LEAN IT FORWARD AND A LITTLE DOWNWARD AND HIT THE LOAD BUTTON AND IT WILL OPEN. THAT'S THE TRICK!
Unfortunately, the only solution is to take the Bose 321 apart and that's a scary proposition. If you flip it over, you'll notice 4 little plastic "dimples" You'll have to pop each of these which will take the faceplate off. Once the face plate is off, you'll have to take the "BOSE" cover from the DVD tray off. There'll be the familiar little pinhole under the tray that you can stick a paper clip in and the tray will come out. There is one other way--do what I did last night: after having powered off and powered on for the millionth time since owning my original Bose 321 purchased in December 2002, just get mad at the thing, push eject, and when you hear the eject motor spinning and nothing happens, stick your fingernails in the tiny slot above the DVD tray and **** it out stripping all the gears, etc. Retrieve your DVD, force the tray back in, and then plug the audio from a $29 DVD player from Target into Video 1 on the back of the Bose system. Disconnect the video cable from the back of the Bose system and connect it to your $29 Target DVD player. Not only will this $29 player play DVDs, CDs, MP3s, and DivX's, it'll also show your photos on the television, too.
Bose 321 DVD players are the worst on the market. Hey, I've had a Bose Acoustamass speaker system for years and I love it. I also love the Bose 321's sound system. But the DVD player is junk. It's the cheapest Toshiba DVD player that's ever been made. When I get the urge, I'm going to take the Bose apart again and see if I can replace the DVD player with a different make (should be fairly easy) but if not, I'm tossing the whole thing in the trash and buying a $199 Phillips 5.1 surround sound home theater system and will never buy a Bose product again.
Sounds about typical for Bose. Still, plugging in another DVD player to Video 1, Video 2 or Aux 1 or 2 has worked okay. It's a bit of a pain having to turn on 2 devices, but at least I don't have to worry about that freaking Bose 321 eating anymore DVDs.
Change out a little plastic gear on the motor
