Hi, the main board will issue this (no disc) error code when the lens assembly is malfunctioning. this assembly incorporates the lens head and body and tracking rail. this rail has a motor and gear assembly that has to work in unison in order to track and read properly. the (no disc) error is signaling ga serious malfunction within this assembly. it is not tracking. this will cause errors and the lens will not be able to scan for data to transfer to the main board for track display and info.
numark does all the repairs in house so, you will have to send this unit to numark for the lens assembly replacement. it has failed.
I have a numark cdn 90 one side stop reading the disc but what is strange it not saying no disc and the door opening and closing i did change the whole cd mechanism brand new original from numark same problem could someone help

As an electronics technician for 15 years, and kenwood, rotel, hafler, arcam, and more warranty service, here is my advice.....1). when a disc is loaded ,the clamper assembly loads the disc on to a motor that spins at 600rpm in the center, and 250rpm on the outside ,as it is a larger circle.and a laser and a photo pick up reads small pits in the oxide coating of the cd.
if the motor does not spin fast enough, the "eye pattern" created by the laser is not readable and the cpu will say no disc.
2)if the laser, mounted on an assembly which is driven by either a belt, gear,or electromagnetic slide mechanism does not dock in the center,it will not read the lead-in data on the disc and say no disc.
3)if the laser diode pick up has damaged suspension components ,or the laser is burnt out,it will say no disc.
there is a eye pattern test point viewable with an oscilloscope,if the eye is absent, the laser is burnt out more than likely.. but there are other causes, such as 4) poor grounding that philips had an issue with,......try putting the unit on top of a metal surface, and away from another components like putting it on top of a digital reciever. the digital tuner signals can actually get into the cd and cause a malfunction if the cd has a plastic bottom...there are other issues, and you may want to ship it back to the manufacturer to look at. hopefully i was of some help.
