Ceiling fan stuck on low
I just bought a casablancia with a chain, and I bought the remote seperly, and then pulled the chain down 1 time from off position and it comes on low. I pushed low, it stays on low, and when I pushed med or high, it stays on low. HELP!!!!!

In order for the remote control to work properly the fan has to be on its highest speed using the pull chain ... after setting the pull chain in the proper position you can tie up the chain or remove it to prevent others from changing the setting .. the remote will control the speed from then on ..
most cfl lamps are not compatable with SCR type dimming controls (such as yours) .. you have to use either incandescent bulbs or special cfl lamps that are designed to be used with SCR dimming circuits .. they cost more but should work .. the standard CFL lamps cannot be used ..
your remote has some code switches .. there is a set in the remote control (in the battery case) and a set on the remote receiver .. the codes must match .. if yoiu change your code (in both units) then your neighbor will no longer be able to control your fan .. unless you tell them the code .. or if they get your remote they can copy the switch settings .. since they can control your fan then you can also control theirs ... maybe you can reach a truce .. still one of you should change their code so when one uses their control it doesnt effect the other ...
