Chamberlain motor lift 700 Open Question My garage door opener will not pull up / down the door properly. - It will only move approx. 25 mm at a time then after 3 or 4 attempts will cut out altogether and switch off. The only way to restart it is to disconnect from the mains then start again. It will work okay without the door attached. I have checked the instructions and they tell me the door might not be balanced properly so I have checked this without the motor attached and it stays in any position you leave it so I assume it is correctly balanced.

Not meaning to sound like a prig, but have you tried adjusting the force/sensitivity settings? I'm not very familiar with the Euro/Aust/NZ Chamberlains, but if this is an AC drive, the capacitor may have died (you would probably see some type of oil leaking from the machine, depending on the case, or you'll find some inside the case) or the opener's control board may have given up the ghost. If this is a DC drive, it could be the transformer, or the DC drive board. If this is a newer machine, I'd call the Chamberlain Service number for your area and see what they tell you. If the opener is under warranty, they'll replace it.
