Changing shocks on a 1979 volswagen
Bought a 1979 westfalia volkswagen restored and they had installed air shocks which made it a ''hard ride'' so I took it in to a volkswagen shop have them replaced with hydraulic shocks. They were not able to get them out...I don't know why...in the process they stripped a bolt that attached one of the shocks to the (I guess the chassis...don't know if it was top or bottom) and then just ''set it in'' told me I needed to get it repaired by a alignment and frame shop, and the bolt holding one of the rear shocks to the chassis came out...can't drive it now as it is banging against the body some where..Have a friend who rebulids cars who will assist me in repairing it but he asked me to try and get the schematics for the 1979 Westfalia Volkswagen Chassis so he could do this...at least a temporary ''fix'' so I can go on my trip. I can't find the schematics myself online...if you can help me it would be appreciated
. Was set to go on a camping trip July 19, camp sites already reserved so time is running out for me.
Again, it is a 1979 ''restored'' Westfalia Volkswagen...rear shocks problem. Need the schematics for the chassis related to repairing a stripped bolt holding the shock to the chassis.
